Europe-based support: Robin Buck, Resident Director Email: rbuck@globalinksabroad.org Phone: +44 (0) 7815 166 635 Greetings from London! I am the Resident Director for the European study abroad programs. I worked for a study abroad program for eight years, having relocated to London in 2001 to be that program’s on-site director. I then worked at an international school as a college counselor, so have become familiar with the UK and European higher education systems, before becoming the full time GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Resident Director in Europe. I studied in Paris for my own study abroad experience, as part of my undergraduate studies in Comparative Area Studies and French at Duke University. I then earned a Master’s in Intercultural Relations from Antioch University McGregor. I am a lover of cultures and languages, and have maintained a rigorous agenda of experiential education on both counts for more than a few years. Having had lots of interesting cultural experiences all over Europe, I can be a good resource for GlobaLinks Learning Abroad students. I know how liberating a study abroad experience can be, and I look forward to supporting students as they explore the riches that Europe has to offer. I also appreciate the value of observation and reflection, and the growth that occurs during this time abroad, so we will hit upon those subjects as well during our discussions. As Resident Director, I will be on hand as students adjust to their new surroundings and to make sure things are going smoothly for them. If not able to meet frequently in person, I will be just at the other end of the phone or email, checking in with them or ready to help with their questions. I’d appreciate receiving travel photos too!
