Transportation

The Netherlands offers an abundance of easy-to-use and affordable transportation opportunities. Known as a central transportation hub in Europe, it’s simple to take a train or plane directly to many European destinations. Within the Netherlands, most cities have buses and trams and bigger cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam have metro networks as well. For longer distances, most people travel using the Netherlands’ efficient, comfortable, and speedy train network. Trains leave regularly for most destinations. By far one of the most popular forms of transport in the Netherlands is the bicycle. Because of the country’s small size and flat surface, biking is easy and encouraged. There are bike paths in all Dutch towns making it one of the fastest ways to get around. It’s easy and relatively cheap to rent bikes or even to purchase them used. It is also possible to order a taxi, in advance, from the local taxi companies. In some larger cities, you cna hail a taxi on the street.
