| EuroLearn has a dedicated interest in understanding the benefits and outcomes of studying abroad and making sure our alumni capitalize on these newfound assets and mazimize their study abroad experience. That is why we’ve developed an Alumni Program available to all AustraLearn/AsiaLearn/EuroLearn participants upon return home from their abroad experience. Highlights of the EuroLearn Alumni Program include: EuroLearn Alumni Handbook All EuroLearn study abroad participants receive a Handbook upon return from their time abroad. The Handbook serves as a guide to maximizing their study abroad experience once they are home. It includes information on the following: - Reverse culture shock
- Sharing their experience (writing opportunities, promoting study abroad on their campus)
- Incorporating study abroad into their career search
- Going abroad again (work, intern, volunteer, teach, and grad school abroad)
- Recognition of our scholarship recipients and conservation volunteer participants
- Students of affiliate universities also receive a certificate of completion and professional padfolio.
Active Alumni Program - enCompass Program The GlobaLinks enCompass Program helps interested returnees stay involved with study abroad by encouraging them to promote study abroad on campus, attend study abroad fairs as alumni, be a referral for future students, stay connected to other alumni, submit photos/writings of their experience, and continue traveling internationally. EuroLearn also recognizes that alumni contain valuable information, not to mention infectious excitement and energy. Knowing this, we actively incorporate the comments, advice, enthusiasm, and knowledge that our alumni provide into our correspondence with future EuroLearn participants. When a student completes the enCompass Program, they become eligible to apply for the GlobaLinks Alumni of the Year Award. This is a unique opportunity designed for student interested in pursuing a career in the field of international education. The recipient of this Award will earn a trip to the national NAFSA conference, and be recognized at the annual AustraLearn/AsiaLearn/EuroLearn Affiliate Advisor Luncheon during the conference. During the conference, the recipient will have the opportunity to shadow experienced GlobaLinks staff, network with international education professionals, assist at GlobaLinks' exhibition booth, and take on a potential project. Alumni Newsletter EuroLearn will soon be launching a new Alumni Newsletter that will feature: - Alumni of the month
- Spotlights on future abroad opportunities
- International career tips
- World news and information
- New travel destinations, books on travel, etc.
Photo Contest Each year, AustraLearn/AsiaLearn/EuroLearn hosts a photo contest for our study abroad students. Students can submit two photos and then vote on their favorites. We encourage advisors to vote as well! Stay tuned to EuroLearn’s website in January of each year to see the great photos pour in. Many of the photo submissions are also used in our publications and on our website, allowing several alumni to add “published photographer” to their new list of credentials. Program Evaluation EuroLearn offers each participant the opportunity to evaluate their experience on the EuroLearn program. The evaluations provide us with valuable insight and feedback that we utilize to improve our programs and services. |
